“The prophetic liberal church is the church in which all members share the common responsibility to foresee the consequences of human behavior (both individual and institutional), with the intention of making history in place of being merely pushed around by it.”
—James Luther Adams, “Taking Time Seriously,” in The Prophethood of All Believers.

In Unitarian Universalism, we have a legacy of “deeds not creeds.” Our work for a better world calls us to unexpected places as we harness love’s power to stop oppression. From grassroots community organizing to interfaith Washington advocacy, in protest marches, prayer vigils, and press conferences, in homeless shelters and in prisons, Unitarian Universalists put their faith in to action. We work in interfaith coalitions and partnerships locallystatewidenationally, and internationally to affirm and promote “the inherent worth and dignity of every person,” “justice, equity, and compassion” and “the interconnected web of all existence.” The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee and the UU College of Social Justice are two bold examples of this work.

UUC of Stamford members and friends participate in a variety of Social Justice activities.
