Catherine Onyemelukwe as a young idealistic American travelled to Nigeria as a Peace Corps volunteer in 1962 and found home there too when she met her husband Clem and became part of his family and their Igbo village. Living in both American and Igbo cultures over many years, Catherine’s story is rich in reflections on belong and community and wisdom about white privilege and racism. Catherine is an educator, parent, entrepreneur and justice activist. She is a member of the Unitarian Church in Westport. Her recent memoir is entitled, Nigeria Revisited, My Life and Loves Abroad.
